Adsense Issues… And More.

You may have noticed my Google Adsense ads have been showing nothing but public service announcements for some time now. I think I’ve discovered the problem and am in the process of getting it sorted out, but until that time you may see them, either left over in the posts or in me experimenting in ad placement.

However, after getting the problem fixed and building up a bit more revenue (enough to get the next payment, hurh durh durh) I may switch over to just Project Wonderful ads for a while, I haven’t decided.

In the meantime I’m keeping the referral ad for videogamevoters.org up even though I only get credit of someone actually signs up. They’re pretty cool.

In other news I’ll be mucking with the gallery CSS a bit more, and I’ll probably organize the EXTRA! comics into their own individual galleries (tho I might lump some of the one-pagers together.) I may finally put the Fanart gallery back up too, I feel bad cause of all the things people have drawn me going to waste… I haven’t before because I didn’t want to Fanart to mix into the "Random Art" thing on the side but I could just axe that completely and make better use of the space.

Cheap Ad Space GET!

As you can see right up there under the header, I’ve got some ad space available for all you fine people out there.  If you got a webcomic or an art site or hell even your Gaia auctions (you damn weeaboo) you want to get out there on the cheapy cheap you can bid on the space. The ads are brought to you by Project Wonderful which, true to its name, is a wonderful project.  It’s free to sign up and it can show you a variety of websites offering ad space. All you need to do is bid on a space and wait for it to be approved. Some sellers don’t even have it set up to approve first. I do though, so if you bid and it doesn’t show up right away don’t panic.

But be wary! Someone else can come along and bid more for the space you inhabit, and that goes for any Project Wonderful ad space you purchase on any website.

The current ad under the header is likely going to appear elsewhere on the site in the same spot, and I’ll have more ads popping up around here so just sit tight. You’ll also see the return of my Google Adsense ads, so if you want to be a sport and click on some of those occassionally it’d really help.

Other than that as you can see I’ve made some more adjustments to the site and I’ll likely be making more as the days go by. I’ll finally finish reorganizing the galleries and I’ll probably be updating the menu with some things (and maybe making it more compact, I haven’t decided yet.) I’ve also got things, yes, THINGS, planned in the new year, so stick around.

Also also, I’m going to try to find some way to make the "Recent Posts" area display the date that post was posted so you don’t come here worrying that I haven’t updated in forever and a day.

Another Update!

Shazam! Everything is suddenly looking shinier around here. There’s still a few kinks to work out but I don’t think there’s much else I could do to make the site become a complete garbled mess so you all can peruse. A few things left on the agenda is styling up the image galleries (the new version of Aniga gallery apparently eliminates the sidebar) and try not to ruin all the thumbnails trying to get them to regenerate to have new cooly effects.

As you can see ONLY the site updates will be on the main page for now. For those who care about my pinko commie political rantings, my gushing over video games, or my rants about anime, you know where to find them. As for the rest of you, you never have to see them if you don’t want to.

Another cool feature related to the posts: nested comment replies. This may not seem like a big deal to some people, but now you all can carry on discussions in the comments without having to put "@so-and-so" to show who you’re talking to.

I’m also restructuring the galleries a bit, as it allows for deeper subcategories now. I will be devoting an entire "gallery" to each comic under things like "The Creator Files" and "TSFH Omakes" so just sit tight. I’ll probably delete some posts and post categories as well, but it’ll probably be nothing you’ll miss.

Other than that, the ads will go back into effect soon, but I am trying to get in with Project Wonderful at the mo’ so you people have the chance at some cheapo advertising space for yourselves. I plan to stop using the Amazon ads.

2.3 Update!

Well I’ve updated the site to Wordpress 2.3. You probably.. can’t tell… but yeah it’s updated alright! Apparently I can play with TAG CLOUDS now.

Some things I’m going to work on around here: think I’m going to rethink my theme. Basically I’m jealous of HPK’s badass WP site Studio Blu. I canned the Amazon ads a while ago, but there’s still some floating around. I intend to fix the Adsense ads, and I’ll be integrating Project Wonderful, which means all you lovely readers can take out ads on my site on the cheap. Advertise your blog, your personal site, your deviantART page whatever.

And where the blog will still be a big part of the site, I do believe I’m going to try to make a more solid frontpage with streams of the recent posts, top rated posts, etc. on it and only the site updates showing. In the meantime expect some more political and social rants, it’s pissing me off more than religion lately (shocker!)

Site Hiccups

UPDATE: Y HALLO THAR IE USERS. I’ve fixed the problem with Internet Explorer and have thus eliminated the splash page (as splash pages are lame.) One of three things probably caused the problem. Two of which I was pretty sure I was getting rid of to begin with, and one I didn’t really need. So there you have it.

If the site looks a little weird on and off this week never fret, my duckies! That would just be me messing around. I’m trying to fix the problems with Internet Explorer. I’m considering have a FIXED front page (perhaps though with only  "site" category blog posts appearing on it, if thats possible, LOL TEIM TO LERN ME MOAR PHP) with info and latest pics all over it, the blog elsewhere, and organizing more significant blog posts into a list under "Articles". And maybe start doing those lame character posts again- I mean.. LETTING MY CHARACTERS POST. I dunno. Take everything I say with a grain of salt. But in order to fix the IE problem I may need to entirely change the theme. So if the site suddenly looks hideous that is just me testing this theory. STAY TUNED.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I’ve been a little busy with comissions, getting a new job, and unmentionable female problems causing annoying pain and fatigue.
