Huzzah! It is the triumphant return of the Fanart Gallery! I’m so sorry I didn’t do this much sooner… vanity overcame me and I didn’t want fanart cycling through the random image thinger I had in the sidebar until recently. Of course, that wasn’t working very well anyway… since the Sketchbook gallery is the biggest it was showing alot of doodles all the time. Maybe if, in the future, the awesome dude who made Aniga gallery makes it so you can exclude galleries from the random image display (I tried messing with the code but… yeah I have no idea what I’m doing with such advanced php) I’ll bring it back, but for now I’ve canned it. It’ll leave me room for other things in the sidebar anyway.
So yay! Fanart. Heh heh… eh… between computer crashes and site overhauls I’m probably missing a few things in there. If I missed yours go ahead and comment on this post with a link to it. Also sorry the URLs in the gallery descriptions aren’t hyperlinks, the gallery’s code doesn’t like that.
Speaking of the sidebar you may have also noticed that I’ve managed to mess with the Aniga’s structure enough to get the sidebar in there, so now people who bid on the ad space at the top of the page will be showing more often.
I may also finally throw Parody into Dreams into the Aniga script, because it’s rather messy having two different gallery functions and that sections been looking pretty shabby ever since I redesigned the site. So has the AMVs section. Sorry those are pretty low on my priorities but I’ll be getting to them. I’ve also been going through cleaning up old posts, putting borders on the images, fixing typos and spelling mistakes, taking out old broken adsense stuff etc. I’ve outright deleted some that had youtube videos messing up the layout and I was just too lazy to fix but… meh. I’ve also deleted a few pieces of art here and there but I don’t think anyone will notice. I’m also going completely without Google Adsense ads until I fix the problem with them, but I should be able to do that in a week or two.

My good colleague HPK, along with a brave rag-tag team, has just launched a bold new project called The Scienteers (you might have noticed him buying up my Project Wonderful space, the little dickens.) Basically this site is going to be all about promoting webcomics and collecting a fighting team of talent under one splendiforous web-roof. Granted I’m now just making up words, but let me let some press speak for itself:
"One of the features of The Scienteers website is the idea that we want to expose webcomics that may not be getting enough attention when they’re well done. So, one of the goals was to find a way to promote people’s webcomics frequently, thus we have two methods at our disposal. One, submit your news to us! You can either use the handy-dandy on-site form or you can e-mail us directly at thescienteers@gmail.com. We’ll be posting news and blurbs as frequently as we can, so don’t hesitate to get ahold of us! Secondly, we’re going to be running contributed promotional webcomics on our site. Essentially, you can send us 1-3 page promotional stories for us to run on the site and promote your work! Maybe a behind the scenes look, or a non-canon gag, or maybe even a preview of a much larger storyline. We’ll be pleased to run them during certain periods. It’s much better than a text link and a banner ad, right? The format of the comics, as well as further information can be found on the comic submission page. So, help The Scienteers help you. Send us news and comics so we can spread the word about your work!"
So whether you’re a struggling webcomic artist looking for some friendly promotion amongst your peers, or just an appreciator who wants a veridical smorgusboard of comic pages, blurbs, interviews and other comics culture oriented things to read be sure to check it out. It is a budding project at the moment but it’s bound to grow quite rapidly, so hold tight to your bookmarks.

You may have noticed my Google Adsense ads have been showing nothing but public service announcements for some time now. I think I’ve discovered the problem and am in the process of getting it sorted out, but until that time you may see them, either left over in the posts or in me experimenting in ad placement.
However, after getting the problem fixed and building up a bit more revenue (enough to get the next payment, hurh durh durh) I may switch over to just Project Wonderful ads for a while, I haven’t decided.
In the meantime I’m keeping the referral ad for videogamevoters.org up even though I only get credit of someone actually signs up. They’re pretty cool.
In other news I’ll be mucking with the gallery CSS a bit more, and I’ll probably organize the EXTRA! comics into their own individual galleries (tho I might lump some of the one-pagers together.) I may finally put the Fanart gallery back up too, I feel bad cause of all the things people have drawn me going to waste… I haven’t before because I didn’t want to Fanart to mix into the "Random Art" thing on the side but I could just axe that completely and make better use of the space.

What? I’m actually talking about an anime? Surprising, I know, seeing as my last 50 posts (hyperbole) or so have all been about video games. I haven’t really been watching new anime lately, so that effects my urge to write about it. So I was thinking I should just go back through anime I’ve enjoyed in the past.
Actually, I just lied. I finally did finish watching Haibane Renmei recently. What happened was I had seen the first episodes, and the last episodes, but completely missed the middle (entirely because the DVDs weren’t numbered and so I played Russian Roulette in purchasing the next one.) But my good friend Veoh.com came to the rescue as I randomly decided to watch what I had missed one night.
