BLEH HEH HEH HEH BLECK! I have finally completed one of the newer Wii games known as Super Paper Mario, bleck. Count Bleck took a hiatus due to laziness in getting the save data off a different Wii console. BUT BEHOLD, exclaimed Count Bleck, the deed is done the game is won. This is truly a triumph for Count Bleck, said Count Bleck.
Okay enough that, I don’t think I can keep it up the entire post … bleck. Super Paper Mario is by far one of the weirdest little games I’ve ever played (then again I never played the original Paper Marios.) This title drops the Mario characters in an almost completely alien territory, which at first might give you the feeling that the game could have been made without any Mario element at all, but, you know. It probably wouldn’t have sold then. But because of this change in locale we are introduced to the games unique villain: COUNT BLECK! Bleh heh heh heh, bleck.

This girl looks like she needs to be saved,
but not the way these people are thinking
Tell me something. Would you pay to willingly send your ten year old child to a summer camp where some fat crazy bitch talks into a microphone for an hour telling them they’re a hypocrite, they’re a phony, they’re dirty and bad and need to feel guilty and be made clean? Well apparently alot of Evangelical Born Again Christians would. Just another example of everything that’s wrong with religion in the United States.
The documentary Jesus Camp covers the most confounding people, from the aforementioned fat bitch, founder of the camp in question, talking like a giant creepy child predator about how she goes to playgrounds to "convert" kids and can have them hallucinating and convulsing on the ground within minutes. To some poor kid named Levi with a rat-tail hairstyle I haven’t seen since 1992, saying what people have been saying for the last 2,000 years: this generation is gonna be the one to see Jesus come back for sure.

HAY GAIS. Just three items to update on. One is a finished piece, it went through some adjustments after I uploaded it on deviantART, it’s not perfect but it was fun to experiment. The other two are just some silly doodles I did after hearing more about NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams the sequel to one of my favorite childhood games. Colored out of boredom and put in the Sketchbook.

So for the first time, the Senate had a Hindu guest Chapalin, Rajan Zed, delivering the morning invocation in the chamber. Before the poor guy can even begin speaking, hecklers in the crowd start shouting out things like: "Lord Jesus, forgive us father for allowing a prayer of the wicked, which is an abomination in your sight" and "No Lord but Jesus Christ! There’s only one true God!". Yeah. They seemed to mistake the Senate chamber for their church. Maybe they walked into the wrong building?
These people were from a group called "Operation Save America", yet another gathering of people under the mistaken impression that America is anything but a secular nation, and that the Deist and Freemason Founding Fathers would want us to drive all religions except Christianity out of the country. It’s these kinds of groups that want Christian prayer in schools, want Christianity invovled in laws, whine and cry about imaginary oppression and spread mistruths about how their religion is kept out of the public eye by twisting stories of their own misbehavior to make themselves out to be the victims (which, true to form, they’ve done with this situation.)

Mind my fangirling please, I just happened to see this today: the NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams E3 trailer. Oh it made me so nostalgic, I loved the original game as a child (well I still do, my Saturn is still alive and kicking), and for all the complaints of other fans based on what’s been seen so far, the more I see the more I think it’s going to be good. Does it still have the possibility of being corny? Yeah, most definitely. Am I completely in love with the in-game graphics? No, but I don’t think they’re as bad as I’ve heard them made out to be. And besides, even though it’s due out in the Fall I’ve seen articles saying the game is only about 50% complete, so over the next few months who knows what changes to the environment texture (which is the most jarring thing to me, at the moment) and what not there will be. They definitely seem to have toned down that godawful BLOOM that was seen in the early screenshots. Whatever it will be, I’m sure it’ll be fun to play, and it looks adorable and I’m curious to see how it works with the Wii remote.
